Valletta is Malta's capital and a World Heritage site. Built by the Knights of St. John in the 16th Century and named after Jean Parisot de la Valette, this magnificent fortress city rises steeply from its two harbours.

Mdina, the old capital is a typical medieval town situated in the centre of the island commanding magnificent views.
