Travel Photography: Photowalks, Workshops & Tours
We love this quote as it really epitomises photography in a nutshell. There certainly aren't any short cuts in
photography other than to absorb as much knowledge as you can and then practise your craft.
Over time it will become second nature and you will eventually be able to pass your experience
and knowledge onto others who are interested in pursuing photography.
Have you ever wondered why your images never turn out the way you expect? Are you confused about the different settings and the results they will give you? Do you want to get out of AUTO settings? This is a great opportunity for those of you who want to understand camera settings and when & how to use them. We will also be covering the basic principles of photography i.e. Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO and their relationship in order to capture the images you expect from your equipment. At the end of this workshop you should be able to confidently choose the right camera settings to get the best results. Workshop is held monthly. "Travel photography is a subcategory of photography involving the documentation of an area's landscape, people, cultures, customs and history. The Photographic Society of America defines a travel photo as an image that expresses the feeling of a time and place, portrays a land, its people, or a culture in its natural state, and has no geographical limitations."
Well, that's the definition in Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travel_photography and it explains it quite well. Travel Photography requires you to be a bit of a jack-of-all-trades as you will need the knowledge and skills to cover more than one genre. At times it requires you to think fast and know the capabilities of your equipment inside out and to be able to shoot no matter what the conditions. Compared to say a Landscape Photographer whereby they often set up at a given location and wait for the perfect light, a Travel Photographer quite often does not have the luxury of time to stand around waiting.

Why us? There are many genres of photography such as Landscape, Travel, Photojournalism, Portrait etc, however, we have specialised over the years in Travel Photography. Our tours are designed for those starting out, photo enthusiast or for like-minded fellow photographers (and travellers) wanting to visit great and unique destinations. On our tours, we’ll share our knowledge of photography through tips & techniques in the field for capturing that great scene and using your equipment effectively under a variety of conditions. So come with us to experience great locations, learn in relaxed and picturesque locations and take home great images and knowledge for your future travels whether it is with us, at home or further afield.
